Chao Chao Bonita Tierra

England

So I’m sitting at our bar in the hostel in Rio, looking at my watch and realising we’ve only 4 hours until our flight from Rio to Atlanta. The end is no long nigh, it is here, ready and waiting; it is the end to our trip around South America.

What an amazing trip it’s been. We’ve come so far, seen so many things, experienced so much. Walked on glaciers, swam with Galapagos Turtles, stood before ancient Moais, danced the Tango (well sort of), got drunk with a bunch of crazy Paulistas, Sampa’d in Brazil and journeyed to the southern-most city in the world.

We’ve uploaded over 2300 photos, and god knows how many more we’ve actually taken. I’ve probably pouted in a few hundred, Des has frowned in a several dozen and Nicky has worn her big Panda glasses in at least 60%. We’ve met some brilliant people along the way, and hopefully some that’ll be friends for a lot longer than this trip has lasted.

Now the trip is over, we’ve gotta have a holiday. So another ten days in Florida and then, for us, we can head home. Ian has headed off to New Zealand to continue the story of a “little man on a great adventure”. He has been a great friend to us over the past six months and hope the rest of his trip is as fantastic as the start.

It seems fitting only to say, as the locals would, chao chao bonita tierra.

Love,
Paul & Nicky x
